In 1998 the Indian Army had organized an exhibition at Veer Savarkar Memorial Hall titled ‘Arms seized from Kashmiri Militants’. The Lt Colonel was nice enough to all me to click these pictures for you. Mitras look at the arms seized, guns – rocket launchers – communication equipment etc. Surely a home grown terrorist movement could not have procured such high tech stuff. This picture shows arms on display and a board giving recoveries of arms during the period 1990 -1998.
You see Communication Equipment seized from militants. When will India learn to take a tough stand against terrorism? If the media hype on Sanjay Dutt’s arrest post conviction by the TADA court is anything to go by, we have a long way to go.
JKLF (Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Force) banner. Unfortunately successive Indians governments have treated separatist’s leaders with kids gloves, giving them state patronage and even picking up their medical bills.
You see an Indian Army jawan with arms. I admire every member of the Armed Forces who spent their lives in Jammu & Kashmir, fighting a battle due to the fault of one man, Pandit Nehru who took this matter to the United Nations. When ever I have met a family member where the parent had worked in J & K I have gone out of my way to help, my way of showing appreciation.
