The Adi Jagannatha Temple is in Thiruppullani, a village in the outskirts of Ramanathapuram. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. We went here before going to the Emerlad Nataraja temple. Entrance
gopuram. It is one of the 108 Divya Desams.
Rear side of main gopuram. "Tirupullani is one of the celebrated 108 Vaishnava temples. Sri Rama graces in a reclining form. Thiruppullani is a small village situated 10 kms. from Ramanathapuram and is famous for its ancient temple and the Adhi Sethu, the seashore."

Was told these images are of local rajas - chieftains who supported construction of temple. "The temple is believed to be built during the Cholas period and was later contributed by Pandyas and Sethupathi Kings of Ramnad."

Around temple images of snake gods. "And hence those who are childless, worship at this temple by offering sweet pudding to Lord Adi Jagannatha.
And they install an image of snake god in the temple as a part of this worship, and this process is called Nagapradishta.
