A couple of kms away from Raniket is Haidakhan Wale Baba Ashram. "Here resided Haidakhan Wale Baba, who unhesitatingly acknowledged that He was the Shiva Mahavatar Babaji, described by Paramahansa Yogananda in his Autobiography of a Yogi". The Ashram has a temple (that you see) and rooms where a number of devotees stay. To know more about Babaji pl click here

Board outside the temple. "One manifestation of Babaji was around the year 1800. His form, and appearing simultaneously at different spots, have been recorded. This form He dematerialised in 1922, by seating Himself on the surface of the water at the confluence of the Rivers Kali and Ghori, and disappearing in a ball of light. Several Tibetan lamas, who came to Him, recognised Him as Lama Baba who had lived in Tibet centuries ago".

"Shri Babaji appeared in 1970 in the historic, holy cave situated at the foot of Kuman Mount Adi Kailash at Haidakhan. He materialised as a youth of 18 or 20 years". U see him in picture. He gave the message - Truth, Simplicity and Love. Karma Yoga (service to humanity) and Japa Nam (repeating God''s name).

In Sept of 1970 ''He ascended Mount Kailash, and sat on the summit without food or sleep, for forty-five days, thereby exhibiting His yogic powers". U see Babaji in the picture during Kailash Yatra.

Image of Haidakhan Wale Baba. Spent a while meditating on the image. Very powerful. Actually felt the image came alive. Suggest must visit. Keep atleast 2 hours to enjoy place both materially and spiritually. The Haidakhandi Samaj, in deference to Shri Babaji''s wishes and His supreme blessings, is running Charitable Hospitals on a non-profit basis.

Rear side of the temple. On a clear day you get a good view of the Himalayan Peaks from the ashram. If going during the summers visit Chaibatia Orchard garden in Raniket, very good.

An image of Lord Hanuman is just outside the temple. Since took pic in the afternoon face not come. In case of any errors in captions please revert. Words in italics are from a handout given by the Ashram authorities.

Kumaon Mandal Vikash Nigam guest house outside the Ashram. Looks very impressive.
