At the entrance to the Museum is this chandelier (I think it is one), very impressive, looks like made of glass. All pictures in this section are courtsey and copyright Victor & Albert Museum London.

This collection has two parts, one is India and two is Buddha Centre. You see Daggars. Extreme left is Aurangzeb''s sword and then Dara Shikuh.

Ceremonial cloth Patolu. You see Trousers of Patalo fabric, textile segment. This museum is a must see.

Temple Hanging Tamil Nadu, hill top temple Tiruparankundram near Madurai. I liked this one better than the British Museum.This has scenes of the Ramayana depicted therein.

Throne of Maharaja Ranjit Singh made by Hafiz Muhammad Multan 1818 or later. If you love Indian culture this museum is a must see.

Shiva Nataraja. There are fewer people in this museum more peaceful. Visit the V&A Shop for gifts etc and the V&A Bookshop.

Left to Right Somaskanda Tamil Nadu Chola 1000 AD, Siva Narataja early 10th century, Varaha Tamil Nadu mid 13th century.

Left to Right Santinatha 1168 AD Rajasthan. Parsvanatha Gulbarga 12th century. Surya Hoysala style Hassan district, mid 13th century.

Nandikesvara Chola king, Shiva poss Chalukya 7th century. Not 100% sure of this narration. There are sections on Europe & Asia which looked interesting.

Left to Right Surya Pala period Bihar 9-10th century, Surya Pala period Rajmahal Hills Bihar about 12th century, Bodhisattva Maitreya Gandhara Kusana dynasty 2-4th century. Have a got a bit mixed up, hope this narration is correct.

Buddha Gupta period 5-6th century. Parsvanatha 7th century Madhya Pradesh. Keep atleast half a day for a detailed visit to V&A.

Toran like you find all over Gujarat.

Colomede - 1st half of 17th century. Brackets with lotus in Hindu tradition.

Bhairava Nepal 17th century.

Tara Buddhist goddess late 17-18th century.

You enter Buddha Centre ie a separate section. White Tara Nepal Malla synasty 1650-1700.

Seated Buddha Tibet 1700-1800 AD, shown before enlightenment.

Sudhama receiving enlightenment from Samantbhada. Like you see in the Sarnath pictures Buddha is shown differently in different countries of South East Asia.

Buddha Shakyamuni 1700-1800 Burma.

Buddha Shakyamuni Thailand.

Nyon Kannon 1680 Japan - a form of wish granting bodhisattva, Avalokiteshwara one of Japan''s most popular deities.
