A group of twelve girls decided to take off to Leh one fine morning. Here you see some of them. Leh the capital of Ladakh is situated at a height of 3505 metres, is connected by air to Delhi & Srinagar and by road to Manali/Srinagar. A dream drive is the one from Leh to Manali.

Thiksey Monastery. About 12-15 kms outside Leh. Amongst the better-maintained monasteries.

Shey Palace. This was the old capital of Ladakh. About 12-15 kms from Leh, is on the way to Thiksey monastery.

One of the 12 girls, on a snow covered road on the way to Khardung-la Pass. The pass is the highest motorable road in the world at 18,380 feet.

This is a double humped camel. What is special about it that it is two humped, its hair is so warm that locals shave off the hair and leaving a bit for tourists to see. Name of this place is Hundar, note the sand and snow clad mountains in the background. They have sand dunes like the deserts of Jaisalmer. A must visit. Most people stay at Hundur and not Sumur as the girls did when they visit Nubra Valley.

Place is known as Moonland, Lamayuru. The village is on the Leh Srinagar highway. Its monastery here is one of the landmarks of Ladakh.

Alchi monastery. One of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh.

Tso Morini is a lake. Amazing picture. Lake has black neck cranes. Lake is 15075 feet. Six hours drive from Leh, need to stay overnight. Last sixty kms no proper road.

Pangong Tso Lake, close view. It has a 120 km radius of which only 40 kms is within India.

Pangong Tso Lake about an hours drive from Leh. When you go there enroute you cross the Changla Pass which is the third highest motorable road in the world, app height 17,500 feet.
