Entrance to Shri Shantadurga Mandir Goa. All the temples are in old Goa. In Panaji hired a Honda Activa Rs 250/ per day, petrol mine and drove to the temples. Superb drive.

Friends told me that the original temple structures were destroyed by the Portugese. Side view of the temple. Very different from usual temple design. Well maintained and nice canteen is what I can say.

Side view. Left is called ''deepasthambha'' - the lamp post in which hundreds of wick lamps are lit during special festival days. When u drive from Panaji first comes Mangeshi mandir and then Shantadurga mandir.

Water tank outside the temple. In centre is tulsi plant, in front are steps. It is closed.

Overview of Mangeshi Temple which is a Shiva mandir. This one too has a big deepasthamba -painted white in color.

Next is Mahalasha mandir ie Vishnu ka mohini roop. Left of pic gold color is "dwajasthambha" - the flag post of the deity. During special festivals the flag of the deity is invvariably hoisted after performing presecribed rituals. On right is ''deepasthamba'' - the lamp post in which hundreds of wick lamps are lit during special days.

An overview of the temple from outside. All the three temples I visited had big chandeliers.

In the evening a friend took to me the Vagator Beach so sharing some pics. U see a human face carved out of the rock.

The beach was full of foreigners. Here u see two of them playing.

Others playing volleyball.

The children had their play area too. Next day had lunch at Mum''s Kitchen supposed to be authentic Goan food. Good food but I did not lick my fingers. It is a happening place though.

Loved this place. Ground level restaurent. Then at each level of the hill were guest rooms.

Must be really exciting to look down at Mother Earth from that height. Spent a day and half in Goa, liked it. Drove the scooter around Panaji which like most capitals had nice roads. Drove to the Governor''s bungalow, the Don Paulo beach (hope name is right) where the movie Singham was shot.

A foreigner doing a Yog Asana. It is called Ardhaurdhva asana found in Yogasana Vijnana by Swami Dhirendra Brahmachari. After a great eleven day yatra/holiday in Karnataka and its coastal areas left Goa by 7.30pm by VRL double axle Volvo bus to reach Mumbai at 7am the next morning. Ishwar ki kripa see had this trip. It was a dream come true.
