The first piece on the places to eat in Amritsar received a very good response. It triggered a thought. Why not have a list of places to eat for key touristy towns.  

I requested a cousin sister, who has lived in Jaipur for over thirty years, to help with a similar list. This one includes street food and restaurants but excludes high end restaurants. She has classified them into vegetarian, non-vegetarian, snacks, sweets, tea lovers, reputed old restaurants and places to shop.  Since she did not want her name to appear put mine. All credit to her, shortcomings are mine.  

Vegetarian

1. Sharma Dhaba - 8 Sikar Road, Vishwakarma Industrial Road.

2. Santosh Dal Baati Churma - Station Road, near Sindhi Camp Bus stand.

3. Khandelwal Dhaba - 3-4, near Sindhi Camp Bus stand.

4. Dal Bati Churma - Gayatri Sadan, Sawai Jai Singh Highway.

5. Rawat Mishthan Bhandar cum restaurant - Station Road near Sindhi Camp bus stand. (Pyaz Kachoris, snacks, lassi etc).

6. Hanuman Dhaba, Raja Park.

Non-vegetarian

7. Roshans’ -  Raja Park.

8. Old Take Away - 146 M. I. road.

9. Handi - M. I. road. 

Snacks 

10.Gopi - Raja Park (samosas, kachori, lassi and sweets).

11.Green Chilly - Shyam Nagar (fast food). 

12.Mahavir Rabri Bhandar - Calgiri Marg, Malviya Nagar (Rabri is a special sweet made of milk. Also known for Aloo-Pyaz sabzi, Missi roti). 

13.Raja Park Gali No. 1 (for golgappas, raj kachori, chaat etc.).

14.Egg Dee  - Sanjay Omelette near Janta Stores - closer to Rajasthan University. 

15.Aunty's Cafe and other roadside eateries - Nigam Chat Bazaar at Sarojini Marg near Hotel Park Prime, C Scheme. 

16.Shreenath Lassiwala - Paanch Batti, M.I. Road (opp. Niros).

17.Ram Chandra Kulfi - Ajmeri Gate (opposite Yadgaar traffic police office).

18.Faluda Ice Cream - Link Road.

19.Sodhani Sweets - Tonk Road (quality sweets like Ghevar, Mawa Kachori, Makkhan Bada, kachoris, samosas, snacks, lassi etc.)

20.Kanha - Tonk Road and Queen’s Road (Veg food, sweets and snacks).

21.Ishwarji Ghajak - Opposite SBBJ, Chaura Rasta.

22.Narainji Ghajak Wale - 344 Johri Bazar (outlet on Gandhi Nagar crossing too).

23.Phalahar - Raja Park and Saroagi Mansion, M.I. Road. You get Sabudane ki khichdi, namkeen etc. This is the place for people who are fasting.

For Tea Lovers

24.Tapri - opposite Central Park, gate no. 4, Prithvi Singh Road (closer to Statue Circle).

Famous Old Restaurants of City

25.LMB  (Laxmi Mishthan Bhandar, Johri Bazar) - for sweets, chaat and vegetarian food.

26.Natraj - M. I. Road. 

27.Niros - M. I. Road. (One of the oldest and best restaurants for non-veg food).

Shopping

1. Gulab Chand Laxmi Narayan - (Block print suits/material), near Hawa Mahal.

2. Badi Chaupad - they have showrooms in City Pulse Mall, Narayan Singh crossing as well as Mall 21, opposite Raj Mandir Cinema, Panch Batti. 

3. Anokhi - Bagadia Bhawan, C-Scheme.

4. Ratan Textiles - Papriwal Cottage, Ajmer Road.

5. Lashkari - Chaura Rasta (Jaipur Quilts).

6. SML - Chaura Rasta (Jaipuri Quilts).

7. Roop Laxmi - 181 Johri Bazar (For Leharia/bandhej).

8. Jaipur Saree Kendra - 153, Johari Bazar.

Note: Best option is to explore shops around Hawa Mahal, Bapu Bazar and Nehru Bazar for handicrafts, block prints, quilts etc.

For gents cotton shirts, block-print style, visit Bombaywala. It is near Hawa Mahal. For exact location call Suresh at 93145 04472. I have been using their shirts for nearly six years. Super stuff and reasonable. Very good for hot and sultry weather.
