- It is no exaggeration if it is said of
him that there is no state in India, where M V has not left his foot-prints in
some form or the other. He was a great Karma Yogi. He believed in the
philosophy, namely, WORK IS WORSHIP.
Engineer’s Day is celebrated throughout the country on the 21st day of September every year to celebrate the
birth day of Dr. Sir. M. Visvesvarayya.

Dr. Sir. M. V. as he is usually called
was an engineer of international fame. He was a very efficient administrator
too. Dr. Sri M. V. put our country decades ago on the industrial map of the
world. It is no exaggeration if it is said of him that there is no state in
India, where he has not left his footprint in some form or the other. He was a great
KARMAYOGI. He believed in the philosophy WORK is WORSHIP.
He lived a very simple life. Had he
decided, he could have amassed immense wealth. He was a very dedicated soldier
in every sense of the term. His mantra was PRODUCE OR PERISH.
To him, time was very precious. He never
spent his time in unproductive way. He was never after name or fame. Yet, he
was honoured by the world for his invaluable contributions to humanity. He was
sincere to the core. His contributions bear testimony to his efficiency,
sincerity, honesty, simplicity and other divine qualities.
Dr. Sir M. V. does not belong just to the community of engineers. He belongs to every section of the society which believes in the dictum “WORK IS WORSHIP”
Dr. Sir M. V. is not dead. He is still
alive in the works he completed in the past. It is our duty to remember him not
only on his birthday but every day and every minute and second whenever we are
busy with our jobs.
We would be doing the greatest injustice
to Dr. Sir M. V. if we are not sincere to the profession we have chosen. Let
enjoy the work we are doing.
Our country can become a land of plenty
if only, we rededicate ourselves to work hard without any favour or reward in
mind.
Let us sweat for our nation. Let us join
hands to build a new India, young and energetic, dedicated to peace and harmony
and for the welfare of mankind. Let us build a country to serve as a beacon
light to the rest of the world. Let us make the dream of the Father of our
Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, come true. I only wish my words reach the ears of every
individual living in our country. Let it awaken his or her inner urge to swear
to work hard and contribute his or her mite for the growth and prosperity of
our sacred Mother
