India becomes the
17th country in the world to have the ‘Tree of Peace’
The 28th ‘Tree of
Peace’ was planted today at the majestic Mehrangarh Fort premises by His
Highness Maharaja Gaj Singh II of Marwar - Jodhpur, Her Highness Maharani
Hemlata Rajye, Slovak Ambassador, His Excellency Mr Robert Maxian, Mrs Jana
Maxianova and Shree Shree 1008 Shree Achlanand Giri Maharaj. With this
plantation, India becomes the 17th country of the world to have the tree
planted.
This initiative
was founded by a Slovak non-governmental organization, Servare et Manere in
order to develop peace, friendship and the preservation of nature at
international level. The initiative began in 2018 and till now they have
planted 27 trees in 16 countries.
The Tree of Peace
represents the Slovak Republic under the official state brand called “Good Idea
Slovakia - Ideas from Slovakia”. The Tree of Peace project is implemented with
the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic. The
original idea of the project was to commemorate those soldiers who died in
World War I and other global war conflicts in unknown places and were buried
without their names or identities.
As the project is
growing and gaining supporters, the idea of the project is also expanding.
Currently, the project is aimed at preservation of historical memory, fostering
ideas of peace and friendship among the nations and spreading an ecological
message by planting trees as a symbol of peace with respect to nature.
Interestingly, the moment sapling was planted, it started raining, making the
event auspicious.
This is statue that will be placed next to the Tree of Peace. Maharaja Gaj Singh II & dignitaries unveiling it.His Excellency Mr
Robert Maxian and Dr Marek Sobola presented ‘Memorial Medal of Tree of Peace’
to His Highness Maharaja Gaj Singh II of Marwar - Jodhpur for his extraordinary
merits in the development of friendship between nations and his contribution to
the development of youth education.
