Editor: Received lots of requests from readers who wanted to know more about the debate between Adi Sankara and Mandana Misra. Thanks to Prof Upadhyay got to know of a book titled ‘Adi Sankara His Life and Times’ published by the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.

“His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Candrasekharendra Sarasvati, Sankaracarya of Kanci Kamakoti Pitham, was the 68th in the line of succession from Adi Sankar on the Kanci Kamakoti Pitha in Kanci. During 1932 he delivered a series of discourses on the life and message of Adi Sankara, in Tamil, which was published by M/s B G Paul & Co in 1933. We must indeed be grateful to Sri K Nilakantan for compiling these speeches in book form. It was a privilege by Sri T.M.P. Mahadevan to translate them into English for the benefit of as many people as possible”.
