- 14 facts that Indian must Accept and Know about US-Pakistan relations. Best wishes to Pakistan for USA-Iran Peace Talks. For the U.S. need to retain Dollar Supremacy is key. Even if Pakistan succeeds, does it make the rogue state an economic or military power? Article ends with a verse from the Bhagawad Gita.

Building India-Pakistan is a distraction
Recent Pakistan moves to broker a peace deal between USA and Iran has made the content hungry media in India lead us to believe that Pakistan is getting closer to USA again-a failure of India’s foreign policy and that Pakistan could resume large-scale export of terror.
Such comments make Indians feel insecure and undermines India’s achievements in the last 25 odd years. This article seeks to matters in perspective-
What Indians must learn to ACCEPT and Know
1. Pakistan’s strategic location gives it advantages that none
can take away. It shares borders with Iran, Afghanistan, China and is close to Tajikistan. The British had a reason for creating the
country! Read Why
the World needs Pakistan
2. It shall always
bounce back, inspite of using terror as an instrument of state policy, because of
its location and the West need for a country to do
dirty work.
When
the Soviets invaded Afghanistan in 1979, Americans got the Pakis involved. Post
September 11 when the USA invaded Afghanistan, Pakis supported in many ways for
e.g. U.S. troop supplies were unloaded at Karachi for onward movement to Afghanistan.
When Ukraine was running short of ammunition, the Americans asked the Pakis to
produce it.
The
exigencies of the present make the U.S. overlook history for e.g. Pakis gave
shelter to Osama-bin-laden. Guess
Americans know what they are doing.
3. That the West wishes to maintain supremacy in world affairs.
Christianity binds notwithstanding the bloody wars between Christians and
Protestants earlier. If it means double standards on terrorism and dealing with
Pakistan so be it.
Recent
U.S. wars are caused, as perceived, by the need for dollar supremacy. Even
though publicly the U.S. gives different reasons for e.g. the war with Iraq was
in search of weapons of mass disruption. Perhaps, the intent was to get rid of
Saddam Hussein which did because weapons were never found.
4. The West does not want Pakistan to fail and shall bail it out repeatedly. Also, the U.S. has made Pakistan part of its Middle East plans – security outsourcing. Read Saudi Pakistan
Defence Tool is a U.S. way to retain global dominance
The Americans and Pakis have this love hate relationship even
though both sides know it is nowhere near amar
prem.
5. That notwithstanding India’s increasing economic ties with Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, ISLAM shall always be the Fevicol
that binds Pakistan with the Middle East, Iran included.
Having
said that expert Bharat Karnad made a relevant point around 2019, “It helps Riyadh in the Islamic world if India, with the second largest Muslim population, is seen on its side not only in the competition with Erdogan and Turkey for leadership, but in the more significant Sunni-Shia tussle underway with Iran for influence in, and control of, West Asia.”
6. Pakistan
is batting for its iron-brother China, lender Saudi Arabia and the
U.S. A confrontation in the Strait of Hormuz hits China hard in terms of
supplies and loss of discounts. Saudis need Pakistan military to ensure
continuation of the monarchy. It also needs U.S. support in multi-national
forums. What the Chinese and Saudis cannot tell the U.S. the Pakis can, atleast
during peace talks.
The challenge is to make both allies happy. Not easy!
When contracts for re-construction are given for destruction of infrastructure and oil refineries in Iran/GCC countries Pakistan could help China bag contracts – a lifeline for China at this point not to forget geopolitical heft.
7. Perhaps, Pakistan can share notes with Iran how it fooled
the West to become a Nuclear Weapons Power.
Strategist Brahma Chellaney recently wrote, “Pakistan’s bomb did not emerge in isolation. It was enabled by external assistance and illicit procurement, much of
it orchestrated by A.Q. Khan, who ran the world’s most extensive nuclear-smuggling network. Yet Khan was never held to account by Washington. Even as the U.S. warns about the dangers of a hypothetical Iranian bomb, it has largely ignored Pakistan’s ongoing nuclear and missile buildup.”
Chellaney wrote, “More striking still is
that the U.S. intelligence community, in its recently released 2026 Annual Threat Assessment, has for the first time placed Pakistan alongside China, Russia, North Korea and Iran as a missile and nuclear threat to the American homeland.” Read America’s double standard on nuclear Islamism by Brahma Chellaney
Still the U.S. President reportedly says might
visit Pakistan to sign a Deal with Iran. The pressures of November Mid-term
Polls at play!
8. The U.S.
is comfortable dealing with Generals/dictators. Read Dealing
with Dictators- the U.S. playbook varies or simple e.g. is Saudi Arabia
Monarchy.
To others like India it propagates Human Rights. Read Human Rights is a
Western Policy Tool and Why Democracy has
failed in Pakistan
To balance dealing with dictators it tells how democracy is common
to India and the U.S. and how it promotes democracy.
What the U.S. forget is that democracy is intrinsic to Bharat. V.I. Sreenivas wrote in Bhavan’s Journal, “Although democracy has gained ascendency in modern times, the principles of rule of law (an important part of democracy) was extolled by our sages since antiquity. Dharma shastras made it clear that the king exists for the welfare of the people and not the other way around. In other words, the ruler was not sovereign but the law was.” Read How

India must stop this daily tamasha at Wagah Border. 2012.
9. With
a population of 140 crs plus India is probably the largest
market for AI (Artificial Intelligence) products.
The size of the market in the West (Chinese market no chance) might
not justify the huge investments American companies are making in AI. Surely,
India needs U.S. semiconductor technology and AI but I mean it is a two-way
street.
10.
Pakistan is doing what it can for economic survival and
change perceptions in the West. Credit goes to the GOI for reducing foreign
support to Pakistan.
11. Even
if the U.S. tries to hyphenate India with Pakistan, India is miles ahead in
terms of GDP, stock market capitalization, innovation, start-ups and Vision.
The U.S. must keep in mind that Indian pharma companies reduce
cost of health care in the U.S. It is Indian Information Technology companies
and GCC centres that help enhance profits and subsequently share prices of
Western companies. Surely, India benefits too. Deeper point, benefits are
two-way.
Further, India’s refineries can process the light crude that
the U.S. produces currently and the Venezuelan crude that the U.S. seeks to
export. Given the size of the Indian
economy, it can aid U.S. efforts to retain dollar dominance.
12. A
Fear - If the U.S. renews support to Pakistan, will the latter raise the Kashmir
issue again with U.S. report.
One, Jammu and Kashmir post amendment of Article 370 in 2019 is no
longer the J&K of earlier. Two, give the U.S. a certified true copy of the Simla Agreement Para 1 (2) reads, “That the two countries are resolved to settle their differences by peaceful means through bilateral negotiations or by any other peaceful means mutually agreed upon between them.”
Indians should compare themselves with the best
in world namely Japan, China, U.S. and Germany not a bankrupt State. Pakistan
should be not be given so much of importance.
13. That
Pakistan has a horizontal
width of only 427.52 km? This makes Pakistan vulnerable.
They know this, hence seek strategic depth in Afghanistan.
Indians would do well to remember the more President Trump expresses love for PM Modi, the more wary should India be of U.S.
moves and Christopher Landau’s words in India recently – “that the US will not make the same mistake with India as it did with China.” India must not over depend on the U.S. market.
14. If Pakistan succeeds in having a peace deal between USA and Iran, credit to them. India stands to benefit too. Nevertheless, keep in mind that Pakistan’s goal is to make India fail and convert it into a Muslim country.
At all times India should be guided by this verse of the Bhagavad
Gita–
Chapter 2 Verse 14, “The contact of senses with objects, O son of Kunti, which cause heat and cold, pleasure and pain, have a beginning and an end; they are impermanent; endure them bravely, O descendant of Bharata.” (Gurudev Swami Chinamayanand ji Commentary)
Neither
good nor bad times are permanent. When times are good I express gratitude,
share my happiness with the less fortunate and enjoy while it lasts. When times
are bad I try to sail through with the belief that nothing is permanent.
Simultaneously, with a cool mind I reflect on earlier actions to know if I did
something wrong and make amends.
Indians need to be more confident of their India’s capabilities and Buddhi.
