Review of Bhutan Trip with Thrillophilia

  • A day by day program of five days of bliss in Bhutan.

A month ago, I went on a short trip to Bhutan with my family. This trip was a gift to my parents after I got a promotion. I was failing at planning this trip while managing a busy work schedule. After a few attempts, I understood that it was not my cup of tea and I needed someone to help me plan this perfectly for my parents.

I started searching for some online travel sites which is when I found out about Thrillophilia. What I loved the most is that the site had a lot of exciting packages available at my budget. After scrolling for an hour, I decided to go with the ‘Getaway to Bhutan’ package for 5 days and 4 nights. I also made sure to read the Thrillophilia reviews of Bhutan trip where travelers had shared their experiences.

Next I connected with a company representative. They explained everything about the package, the inclusions and everything else. I completed the payment process and booked the package for three. All the planning and booking was done within a day which saved me a lot of effort and time. Next I booked the flight tickets and everything was ready for our trip to Bhutan.

A short and sweet trip to Bhutan

Clock tower in Thimpu.

Our journey started in Siliguri from where our driver picked us up and transferred us to our hotel in Phuentsholing. It took us around 4 hours to reach our hotel from Siliguri. Just like I had read in several Bhutan trip reviews, Thrillophilia always offers you the best stays. It was a beautiful and cosy home stay with the most welcoming hospitality. After completing the check-in process, we went straight towards our room and decided to take some rest after a long tiring journey.

In the evening, we visited the beautiful Torsa River side which took away all our tiredness. It was the most soothing place ever and the perfect beginning to our trip. At night, we visited a nearby restaurant and tried the famous Ema Datshi for dinner.

The next day, we checked-out of our hotel and got transferred to Thimphu. As soon as we reached our hotel in Thimphu, we completed the check-in process, had our lunch and headed out for the city tour. That day, we covered a lot of exciting places like Dechen Phodrang Monastery, Clock Tower Square, Simply Bhutan, National Memorial Chorten and Tashichho Dzong. It was overall a fun day as we not only got to explore a lot of places but also experience the beautiful local culture of Bhutan.

Our day 3 included a transfer from Thimphu to Paro. Before reaching Paro, we explored two more places in Thimphu.

First, we visited the famous Buddha Dordenma Statue which is a huge statue of Gautam Buddha, made of bronze and gold. Next, we visited the Simtokha Dzong which was on a hill and had such stunning views of the city. We reached Paro late in the evening, so we decided to stay in the hotel and order dinner in our rooms.

Day 4, the last day was the highlight of our trip. We left early from our hotel, right after our breakfast as we were going to hike to Taktsang Monastery. Honestly, the hike was not really easy for my parents as it was located on an edge of a hill. However, it was the best and most memorable experience for all of us. After a tiring yet exciting three hour hike, we reached the Taktsang Monastery. The views from this monastery were absolutely breathtaking and completely worth all the effort. We also explored nearby monasteries like Paro Rinpung Dzong and Ta Dzong. While climbing down, we enjoyed a delicious meal at Taktsang Cafeteria while admiring the views.

The next day, our driver picked us up from our hotel and dropped us off at Siliguri. We boarded our flight back home from Bagdogra Airport. On the flight, I remembered all the positive Thrillophilia Bhutan trip reviews and related them so well that I decided to write a review myself.

Thank you Thrillophilia

I loved the fact that the representative of the company understood all my needs and created the perfect itinerary for me. The itinerary included the right amount of places which were convenient for my old parents as well. I also cannot believe that this entire trip cost me so less than my expectation. I am extremely impressed with this company which is why I am dropping my review of Bhutan tour with Thrillophilia.
